After visiting Mount Edgcumbe, William Daniel wrote of his tour round the coast of Great Britain that

“among all the scenes that memory could recall,
none could be paralleled to this”

Guided walks

exploring some of the heritage assets Mount Edgcumbe has to offer

We are delighted to offer a season of guided walks featuring some of the most important historical assets in the Country Park and when and why they were created. The tours are entirely outside and will be led by Dr Malcolm Cross, who has conducted extensive research on the Grade I Country Park and the many heritage assets it contains.

The walks will start with the house (exterior only) and terraces before moving on to the formal gardens, home to the English Garden House, the French Garden House and the Orangery. If time allows, the walks will extend to Barn Pool and the Amphitheatre.

Dates available

to be announced

Where & when

We will meet in the Barrow Park car park at 1100. The walk will finish at approx. 1300. Comfortable walking shoes will be necessary, along with waterproof clothing if inclement / sun protection if sunny.
